高分子材料是當今世界發(fā)展最迅速的產業(yè)之一,高分子材料已廣泛應用到電子信息、生物醫(yī)藥、航天航空、汽車工業(yè)、包裝、建筑等各個領域。高分子材料與工程專業(yè)就是為了適應二十一世紀材料科學與工程的發(fā)展而設置的厚基礎、寬方向、適應性強的材料類專業(yè)。我校高分子材料與工程專業(yè)是國家級特色專業(yè)。

本專業(yè)建立于1957年,是我國最早的高分子材料專業(yè)之一,也是我國首批高分子材料博士和碩士學位授予點。材料學科是上海市重點學科,是國家“211”工程建設的重點。本學科在多年發(fā)展的基礎上,形成了自己的辦學特色和研究方向,包括活性聚合、新材料的合成與開發(fā)、聚合物結構與性能、反應性加工、先進復合材料及應用、超細材料及納米材料、生物材料、新型功能材料、化學建材和化學纖維等。

高分子材料與工程專業(yè)含高分子材料、高分子化工兩個專業(yè)方向。高分子材料方向以高分子材料的制備、加工、改性及結構和性能的研究為基礎;高分子化工以高分子化合物的合成工藝與工程為主體,以聚合物的制備、聚合工藝開發(fā)、聚合設計和控制為方向。

高分子材料與工程專業(yè)現有教師72名,其中教授17名,副教授19名。本學科在多年發(fā)展的基礎上,形成了自己的辦學特色和研究方向,實行應用基礎研究和工程開發(fā)研究相結合。多年來與國內外著名企業(yè)、公司建立了廣泛的科研協作關系,在教學和科研中獲得了多項國家和省部級獎項。

為提高本科生的競爭能力,本專業(yè)多年來精心設計課程體系,注重教學質量,制訂并實施了面向21世紀教育培養(yǎng)計劃,近年來在獲得上海市優(yōu)秀教學成果獎的基礎上,建立了材料實驗教學中心和高分子材料加工中心,使學生的專業(yè)能力和基本技能得到極大提高。另一方面,本專業(yè)重視學生文化素質和綜合能力的提高,鼓勵學有余力的學生選修第二專業(yè)。學生在校學習期間,除學校和社會提供的各類獎學金外,一些國內外知名企業(yè)和個人還在本專業(yè)設置了“陳文士”獎學金、PPG獎學金、杜邦獎學金、羅門哈斯獎學金、巴斯夫獎學金、GE獎學金、陶氏獎學金、臺橡獎學金、住友獎學金、ICI獎學金、漢高獎學金、LG獎學金等,重獎品學兼優(yōu)的學,。同時,通過各種渠道獲得資助,以幫助各類學生完成學業(yè)。

本專業(yè)的主要課程包括:鄧小平理論概論、大學英語、高等數學、線性代數、概率論與數理統(tǒng)計、大學物理、基礎化學、有機化學、物理化學、化工原理,以及社會學、經濟學、體育和計算機等基礎課程,機械工程基礎、高分子化學、高分子物理、高分子材料成型加工、聚合過程原理,以及專業(yè)實驗等專業(yè)必修課程。其中,高分子科學與工程實驗、高分子物理為國家精品課程,高分子化學、高分子材料成型加工、高分子科學實驗為上海市精品課程。本專業(yè)課程體系中還設置了材料學科公共平臺課,如:材料概論及實驗、材料表界面、材料研究方法,這些課程為學生在材料學科上的繼續(xù)發(fā)展奠定了基礎。本專業(yè)還設有下廠實習、畢業(yè)設計和畢業(yè)論文等實踐環(huán)節(jié)。

本專業(yè)培養(yǎng)德、智、體全面發(fā)展,掌握高分子材料合成、加工的基本原理以及工藝設計和機電綜合知識,能進行高分子材料合成和加工的研究與開發(fā)、質量管理和教學工作,并具有競爭能力的工程技術人才。本專業(yè)畢業(yè)生適合于高分子材料合成、復合材料、橡膠和塑料制品的企業(yè)以及研究單位和高等院校,主要面向化工、建材、醫(yī)藥、輕工、石油化工、航天、航空、環(huán)保、電子、家電、汽車、包裝、機電、造船等行業(yè)。

本專業(yè)學制4年,學生達到教學要求后,可獲得本科畢業(yè)證書和工學學士學位證書。

Polymer Materials and Engineering

Research of Polymer materials has been prompt developing rapidly in the world. It has been widely used in many fields, such as electro-communication, biomedicine, aviation and aerospace, auto industry, packing, architecture, and so on. The deep (solid) basis, broad field and better adaptability in the specialty has been set up for the development of materials science and engineering in 21st century. The specialty is the National Particular Specialty.

The specialty was founded in 1957, and was one of the earliest specialties in China. The PhD program in Polymer Material Science was one of the earliest such programs available in China. The discipline of Material Science has been accredited as a key discipline by Shanghai Municipality, and has also been placed on the “211” construction project. On the basis of the feature and developing trend of the discipline, there are some research programs in the fields of living/controlled polymerization, synthesis and development of new materials, polymer structure and property, reactive processing technology, advanced composites and application, ultrafine materials and nanomaterials, biomaterials, functional materials, chemical construction materials and chemical fibers in the specialty.

There are two major researches in the specialty, polymer materials and polymer chemical engineering. The polymer materials focus on preparation, processing and modification, structure and properties of polymer materials, and the polymer chemical engineering focus on polymer synthesis techniques and engineering, polymer manufacture, development of polymerization process, polymerization design and control.

There are 72 faculty members in the specialty including 17 professors, 19 associate professors. After several years’ development, science research and engineering development have been integrated primely in this specialty, and the characteristic on teaching and research has also formed. In recent years, a favorable relationship with world renowned enterprises and companies on scientific research and cooperation has been built. Therefore, many teaching and research awards from national, provincial and ministerial level has been achieved in this specialty.

To enhance the ability of the undergraduate student, the elaborate curriculum system has been set up to ensure the quality of teaching in the specialty. The cultivation project facing the 21st century was also constructed and applied in the teaching. With the winning of the Shanghai excellent teaching awards in recent years, the materials lab center and polymer materials processing center for undergraduate have been built up in pursuit of perfection of our teaching. On the other hand, the increase of the diathesis cultivation and comprehensive ability of the undergraduate are also emphasized. Some students were encouraged to study more knowledge in the second major. There are some scholarship from University, society, famous companies and personal as encouragement for excellent students in this specialty, such as “Chen Wenshi”, PPG, Dupont, Rohmhaas, BASF, GE, DOW, Tai Wan Rubber, Sumitomo, ICI, Henkel, LG and so on. Meanwhile, students could also get other sustentations to accomplish their school work.

The basic compulsory courses for all undergraduate students include Den Xiaoping Theory, University English, Higher Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, University Physics, Basic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Principles of Chemical Engineering besides social science, economy, physical education and computer science. For undergraduate students majoring in Polymer Materials Engineering, additional compulsory specialty courses include Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Physics, Polymer Material Processing, Principle of Polymerization and specialty experiments. Furthermore, the courses of Experiments of Polymer Science and Engineering,Polymer Physics have been evaluated as the National Classic Courses, and the courses of Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Material Processing, Experiments of Polymer Science as the Shanghai Classic Courses. There is also a series of platform courses for the material science and engineering, for instance, Materials Conspectus and Experiment, Materials Surface and Interface, Materials Research Method. On the basis of the cultivation system, the students can obtain the well-knit basis for their continuing studying and progress. Meanwhile, the student can also get the practice in techniques design, practice in companies and dissertation for bachelor.

The students are cultivated for the all-around progress in morality, mentality and physical education. The fundamental principle of the synthesis and processing of polymer materials, and the knowledge of the technology design and the integration of mechanics and electricity should be commanded to the students. On all accounts, the students will obtain the fundamental training for the engineers and be able to undertake the competitive works in research and exploitation of the synthesis, processing, quality control and teaching of the polymer materials in chemical engineering, building materials, medicine, light industry, petroleum chemistry, aeronautic industry, environmental protection, electronic and electrical appliance, automobile, packaging, mechanics and electricity, ship building and so on. Indeed, the students can also be competent for the position of polymer synthesis, composite, rubber and plastics in universities and administrations.
