要說(shuō)可能使用對(duì)方不高興或失望的話,因此為引導(dǎo)“說(shuō)句不中聽(tīng)的話,說(shuō)的難聽(tīng)一點(diǎn)”
如:The British singers, dare I say it, are only middling.
英國(guó)的歌手,說(shuō)句不中聽(tīng)的話,不怎么樣。
3.don't say
表示反感,驚訝,不耐煩,懷疑“可別又扯什么……”
如:Don't say you have broken another cup.
我可不想聽(tīng)到你又打了個(gè)杯子啊。
4.easier said than done
“說(shuō)起來(lái)容易,做起來(lái)難”
如:Persuading a child to eat is easier said than done.
哄孩子吃飯真是說(shuō)起來(lái)容易做起來(lái)難啊。
5.I can't say
委婉地表示不贊同或否定“恐怕我不……”
如:I can't say I want to go and visit your parents this week.
周末我不太想去見(jiàn)你的父母。
6.I couldn't say...
“我說(shuō)不上來(lái);很難講;不知道”
如:I couldn't say how long the treatment is likely to take.
我不知道這種療法要多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間。
7. I dare say
“我覺(jué)得很有可能;我敢說(shuō);”
如:Well, I dare say you've spent all your money by now.
哼,我敢說(shuō)到這會(huì)兒,你肯定把所有的錢(qián)都花完了。
8. if I may say so...
比較客氣地表達(dá)自己的看法“依我說(shuō)的話”
如:If I might say so, that skirt doesn't quite fit you, Jane.
Jane,要依我看啊,那條裙子不太適合你哦。
9. I'll say
表示強(qiáng)調(diào)肯定,同意時(shí)的說(shuō)法“當(dāng)然是,當(dāng)然可以”
如:-Do you like whisky?
-I'll say.
-你愛(ài)喝威士忌嗎?
-當(dāng)然愛(ài)了。
10.I'm bound to say...
表示強(qiáng)調(diào)你必須說(shuō)或者承認(rèn)“很慚愧地講”
如:I'm bound to say that it is the British who are mostly to be blamed.
慚愧地講(說(shuō)話人本身是英國(guó)人),英國(guó)人最該受譴責(zé)。
