H：If he didn't have any drug problems, he would have won.

什么?他服用了哪種類型的藥物?

H：He was taking steroids to make him stronger and faster.

他服用了類固醇類的藥物為了讓自己跑得更快,更有力。

A：I thought that all athletes were supposed to be regularly tested for drugs.

我覺得所有運動員都應(yīng)該定期接受藥檢。

H：They are. The only reason they didn't disqualify him until after the race is because the results from the text only came back afterwards.

是的。這次之所以在比賽之后才取消他的資格就是因為藥檢的結(jié)果出來的晚了。

A：That's so disappointing. I don't know why top athletes would feel the need to take drugs.

真讓人失望啊。我不明白為什么頂尖選手還覺得自己需要服用藥物。

H：I don't think it's right, but I can understand why they might. Imagine how much pressure there would be to win for your country!

我覺得這么做不對，但是我可以理解他們這么做的原因。想想為了自己代表的國家能夠獲勝他們需要承受多大的壓力!

A：Regardless of how much pressure you're under, there's never a good reason to take drugs.

無論他們承受了多大壓力，這都不是服用違禁藥物的好理由。

H：I agree. Hopefully with the new regulations, fewer athletes will try to cheat with drugs.

我同意.希望新規(guī)定開始執(zhí)行之后,服藥作弊的運動員能少一些。
