讀者 LC Man 寄電郵問：平常我們說 Chinese people，如 This is made for the Chinese people。為什么談到中國市場時，有人會說 the China market 呢？The Chinese market和 the China market哪一個正確？
我詢問過一些從事中國貿(mào)易的人以及在學(xué)院里研讀商業(yè)管理的同事，一致認(rèn)為the China market 和 the Chinese market都對，但因為著眼點通常是在中國這個地區(qū)而不是數(shù)目龐大的中國消費者，所以一般說法是 the China market。
應(yīng)用到其他的國家，我們同樣可以說 the Japan market 或 the Japanese market， the US market 或 the American market。
至于 "This is made for the Chinese people" 一句，一提到人，就自然是 Chinese 而不是 China。Chinese 既是名詞，又是形容詞。
